Thanks Chase. Sarah and I do have four little ones running around.
Actually the ages are 14, 11, 10 and 4. So we have big ones and little one.
I'm happy to learn of your venture and will look forward to learning from you and others on how to serve our kids fun and nutritious meals in less time.

i don't have a lot to offer yet with the lunches as they usually breastfeed for lunch...but we are starting solid foods twice a day, as you know, and i'd love to get some ideas of when to start what and when to progress from mush to lumpier. so eloquent am i.

It's great so far! I can fill things out as long as you don't mind me focusing on my specialties- creative snacks and feeding toddler/preschoolers. Lunch time at our house isn't always a gourmet affair.

Latest Activity

I've been making bentos for awhile and love it. So do my kids. They get really excited about lunch time.

My daughter is a grazer like me so I pack several different mini-meals for her to enjoy throughout the day. Her preschool also provides a morning snack of protein & carbs and an afternoon snack of fruit.

Eating Local...

Do you go to your local farmers market? Farm stands? Shop the "local" section of your grocery?

I take the girls to the farm stand every so often and then I wonder why I don't go weekly. The prices are better than the supermarket, the produce is very fresh - they even have eggs and honey.

My toddler who has suddenly become a very picky eater will try anything at the farm stand - veggies, fruit, etc...if it's in a basket she'll eat it. I grew up in a farming community and remember when you reall… Continue

What to do about school lunches?

Some parents don't have the time or energy to pack a lunch for the kids everyday. A great alternative *should* be just buying a lunch at school. Unfortunately in too many cases these lunches are far from healthy. What can be done?

In many communities the parents have been heard and a new way of doing the school lunch has been started. Here in my county there is a program called Farm to School which essentially is an "eat local" program for the schools. Produce comes directly from local farms.… Continue
